Sellotape was turning 80, so to celebrate its big birthday, we created a limited edition vintage tin to serve as a stocking filler.
However, to justify its near £10 price tag, we knew we needed to do more. So we made it feel much bigger than just any old tin. We made it a gesture, a token of affection, something friends and family could personalise. It wasn’t just a present; it was a promise to stick by the person they loved.
This product was supported by a full 360 campaign that stretched from DOOH and social through to shopper marketing.
The limited edition tins sold out completely weeks before Christmas.
Unsurprisingly, the client was delighted with the result. What started as work for a single Sellotape Christmas campaign ended up securing the holding company’s entire portfolio, turning us and our agency partner, Agency TK, from rank outsiders into Henkel’s preferred partners for all advertising and marketing.
